Monstrous beasts lay waste to the world of Voiyanna. Amidst the chaos and terror, the Council of All gathers to consider solutions. With the vaunted city of Elitia teetering on collapse, all hope, reluctant or not, is placed on specially selected ambassadors who are to seek out an ancient — and supposedly long-dead — hero, known as Apirion Hail.

Among those sent are a rookie beast-keeper, a voiceless girl, an anti-beast zealot, and twins grappling with revelations surrounding their father’s death. In-group hostility becomes a threat to the mission, so the ruthless Sire Thrill and his personal droid force everyone into a frail truce. The brief unity collapses when they discover that Apirion — their last hope of rescue from the monsters that stalk their every move — not only lives but is far deadlier than the beasts from which they sought refuge. Do they return alone, or trust him?

Some legends might be better off left dead.

Confused, frustrated, or curious about modern discussions around “race,” justice, and gender that no longer make sense in light of what you grew up with? Wondering why they have become the dominant topics in society? Are you struggling to have discussions about these topics that remain productive rather than go nowhere or devolve into bitter arguments?

This series aims to help put context into what’s going on, examine how we got here, and, most importantly, examine the core themes underpinning most of the modern Social Justice movement by comparing them with scripture. Are they helpful? Innocuous? Antithetical to God’s revealed Word?

The hope is to not become an accademic expert in these topics. Nine weeks is simply not enough time for that. Rather, I want the layperson to be able to have productive dialogue with others so we can honor God, share the Gospel, and advance the kingdom. To do that, we must understand the core themes at play, see how they fit or don’t fit with scripture, and know how to ask relevant questions.

Some of you are overwhelmed and don’t know where to start. Others of you have no idea you are now a missionary in your own country. We all need to understand what we’re up against, and prayerfully this study will help.

For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
